Harbour boats in Copenhagen have been fitted with emmision system that includes Notox particulate filter. (picture above)
Based on known technology from land based Diesel Particulate Filters, silicon carbide filter configurations can be built both for emission applications and for liquid filtration purposes.
The silicon carbide filters are built for harsh operation environments unsuitable for conventional polymeric membrane products. A variety of different membranes can be applied to the carrier, depending on the final application.
In the marine sector these are the areas where our filters can be built and applied:
Other filter systems, already used in such applications can be replaced with liquid filters based on our silicon carbide carriers, typically for micro filtration and ultra filtration applications providing superior performance in a range of applications.
The benefit of silicon carbide filters, based on our carriers compared to oxide based liquid filters, is the extended operating and cleaning range (0-14 pH), and improved thermal shock resistance. These features enable treatment of aggressive alkaline fluids and cleaning operations with aggressive alkaline cleaners or rapid and aggressive thermal cleaning.
Typical use are applications for de-oiling of bilge water as well as many other marine related areas such as ballast water, wastewater and other areas where our filter substrates can be used.
